The reincarnation of the Abarth in its purest form. And when they go in groups, they are menacing!

What was its track record in competition?

Mainly, it is a vehicle that, due to its very particular character, has several single-brand cups (challenges) in various countries around the world, in order to enhance its iconic image, and its features capable of surprising more than one.

I don’t know how many slot clubs have Abarth 500 NSR championships, but I’m sure that on the home circuit of more than one, there have been electrifying duels with these bullets. Their challenging appearance invites you to take them out of the display case, and experience strong emotions at their controls, like those of the 1:1 scale Abarth!!!!

In this case, we have 4 different versions purchased at different times. The first two (white deco and Mercedes deco) were acquired in 2019, while the Martini ones are the latest batch, acquired in 2023. Mechanically identical, there are no variations.

The behavior is pleasant and satisfactory, surprisingly noble without a magnet. In this it must be said that it plays in its favor, especially for the domestic circuit, a pinion-crown ratio that helps control and that things do not get out of hand, unless the car is under the control of a finger-trigger assembly with suicidal tendencies. The transmission ratio (11/32) is short enough so that in the turning area it is docile and manageable and it takes a bite out of the straights of a domestic layout, looking for the next curve.

In fact, it impresses given its proportions, with a certain height, the agility and poise with which it tackles zig-zags and tight corners. You can’t fault the behavior of this fun bomb.

They are also a delight to the eye, in this NSR in my opinion it gives us a nice looking car. I still remember the observations that some club mates have made to me about the disproportions that NSR applied to the Clio and Grande Punto, but in the case of this Abarth 500, I find it quite faithful to the original.

Do they stand out in the display case or on that shelf where you have your cars?

I believe it, these little creatures are not only designed to impress on the track. Even when stationary, inside their box, they appear to be in motion.
